Stainless Steel 202
Stainless Steel 304
Stainless Steel 316
Stainless Steel 202
SS 202 is known as an economical austenitic stainless steel because it uses manganese to partially replace the more expensive nickel content. Common in consumer goods and architectural applications where cost is a factor but moderate corrosion resistance is acceptable.
Specifications
16-18% Cr, 4-6% Ni, 7.5-10% Mn, ≤0.15% C
Stainless Steel 304
Used across many industries for various parts, components, and finishes, 304 stainless steel scrap is a popular option for both reusing and melting into new components or products. SS 304 is often called the "standard 18/8" stainless steel because of its 18% chromium and 8% nickel composition.
Specifications
18-20% Cr, 8-10.5% Ni, <0.08% C
Stainless Steel 316
Stainless Steel 316 offers advanced corrosion protection against even the most abrasive chemicals. This steel is typically found in places where corrosion from chemical exposure is likely, such as the food processing industry, petrochemicals, chemical and pharmaceutical equipment, medical devices, wastewater treatment, marine applications, and anywhere exposed to salt, such as places near the ocean.
Specifications
16-18% Cr, 10-14% Ni, 2-3% Mo, <0.03% C
